Dinner is Served
Hello dear guests and welcome to the Blackwood Pines cottage!
Help the landlord clean and prepare the cottage before the guests arrive for dinner.
The game was made in 7 days during the Brackeys Game Jam 2024.2 jam, from 8 Sep 2024 to 15 Sep 2024, based on the theme “Calm Before The Storm”. Here is the game repository on GitHub.
Gameplay
In Dinner is Served the player has to tidy up the cottage hall and the different rooms.
Move the Landlord, interact with the various objects on the scene to fix them, place them in the right position, and clean the filth around the cottage.
It seems a lot to do, but don't worry! The guests will not arrive until you have finished all your tasks.
Credits
All the assets were created from scratch during Brackeys Game Jam 2024.2, except for sound effects made using Freesound.org.
A special thanks to everyone who tests the game these days!

That’s a very fun twist you’ve pulled at the end xD From the tasks and environment (and the title) I expected that something sinister would have happened, but not that it would happen like that!
The art style and music are lovely as well 🎨🎵
Like others have noted the doors to the side are not immediately identifiable as such (I understood it after noticing that their sprites were similar to the upper part of the ones that we see from the front). The first piece of the statue was also not intuitive to identify at first and became clear only after seeing the statue. But this way it’s a nice way to push the player to explore the area 👀
Really funny, I liked the arts and visuals, the gameplay is easy and pretty intuitive, also, the ending was quite...unespected
Well done!
Very nice game and arts, i would add some hints for the directions like doors, because they're not too clear or some arrow. Some things you don't understand immediatly where they go, also some "Backlight" on the items can be useful! I can't wait for the sequel
This game was a ton of fun! Very solid concept, great visuals, very good use of the theme! 🔥🔥🔥
A very well done game, i like the game's idea and the music is very calm help you to relax so far. Pretty much its perfect and very recommended to play!
Very cute game, love the style of the graphics. The music is very relaxing, perfect for the contrast with the ending of the game. The only notes I have are: you can't really tell that the doors are doors, and when the character walks forward or backward you should see front or back, but instead you only ever see sideways
Thank you for the feedback! Of course, we will add more polish to the game further!
Good game and good aesthetics!
I love the twist!
A game that gives you calm and more. Wonderful music and design, there was love in creating this game. I relaxed playing it!
I never expected that ending, really nice game
Funny
Nice game
Amazing little game, loved the graphics and settings.
I needed some time to understand where to put the trash, and sometimes i got lost cause i was moving very fast between rooms, but it was not a big problem.
Thank you so much for having enjoyed the game and for the feedback! <3
Really nice game. Considering the development in 7 days, it has a great base. Especially the final twist, as a lover of the genre, I really liked it. I want the continuation! :D
Thank you so much for having played the game <3
great feeling
doors were not obvious they are doors
idk where to put the trash, apparently i guessed but it could be better signalized (the same way as plates were)
sprint would be nice
THE TWIST WAS GREAT, I LOVE IT!
Thanks a lot for your comments and feedback! We appreciate that.
We will take care of your feedback for the next updates!
I agree a sprint would have been nice
